I am not sure I understand why would you want to do this? You are on EAD, correct? This already gives you the right to work for any employer; getting an H-1B would be a step back in this regard. Am I missing something?
I am interested in changing from I-485 EAD to H1B. My reason being I want to change my work and get a different position. does anyone know what is the procedure?

I am in the same boat too. My employer is filing only 485. My only concern is that what if my lawyer/employer does not give me the receipt ?

this is great, even after working with acrylics for a while, my portraits never got better than this!

I am planning to submit notarized affidavits from my father and mother.

I am in the same situation.. send docs to Dallas lockbox.
Applied for EAD renewal and documents reached on May7th.. checks not cased yet. I think the whole lockbox is creating the delays but one they get to your application it is relatively quick.
Do let me know when your checks are cased.

I think she is ok, getting an H1-B approval doesn't mean that you have to start immediately. for e.g, many of the Indian tech companies get an H1-B at the start of the year and when they have a need for that person in US, send him/her over.
Only after her first payroll would she be considered on H1-B.

Yes he can apply for a TN again, no limit on the number of times alien can enter on TN. If he leaves while his COS is pending it will be considered to be abandonment of the petition.

In my 485 application receipt my first name is not listing fully. MY EAd is also has the same name.DMV is not accepting the EAD card.instead of 16 letters in my first name it shows only first 6 lettters.
How can I change the first name in my 485 application.My 131 is also pending.

yes, I have done that. I had visa stamp of Company A and I was working for Company B. please note that the visa stamp of Company A was not expired when I entered US port of entry. At port of entry, I showed the H1 approval notice of new employer. Please make sure that they stamp the expiry date in your I-94 based on your new approval notice of Company B. that is very important.

i entered the US on AP in Jan 2010, and at the time of entry, my I94 validity was set for
1 year (viz Jan 2011) - and the AP also noted "AoS" status on it.
(a) Is the validity of my I94 (and thus my legal stay) 1 year, or as i have read elsewhere,
if AoS is pending, then its valid till the AoS case is decided?
(b) If the validity is 1 year, what is the process for extending the I94 validity?
