"How do you know what I care about and not?"...I don't. That was an example to drive the point in general 99% of the flock leave the forum as soon as soon as they get the GC. That 25000 members might also..include them.(I'm gradually digressing from my own post:))
How do you suggest IV 'forum' improves the Signal-to-Noise ratio?
Right now it's too noisy and is driving away determined members (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?p=199027#post199027)!
How do you know what I care about and not? I can give some famous examples of GC holders working for IV - Aman Kapoor founder member, Tamsen Mitchell (franklin) leader of South California chapter, and many more.
I may remain active if I feel the cause is worth spending my time, money and effort. Right now, a crowd of 25,000 tracking receipts and discussing mundane issues doesn't give me the confidence to say so. I have better things in life to fight for than a lost cause where the victims (most of them) wait for others to fight for them !

I too had soft LUD's on Mar 26 and 27 and thereafter continuosly from 30 mar 2009 to 3rd Apr 2009 (total 7 days), this happenned after my reply to 485 RFE.
I didnt apply for EAD/AP or no other applications are pending except 485 . Recieved date is Aug 2, 2007 and My PD is NOV2004/EB3
Nembrask service center current processing date for 485 is 15 Aug 2007 , Looks like they are going through all the files in the order they recieved and pereadjucating each case else deniel letter.

thanks for explaining. my suggestion then is to go to school on F1 (maybe ?) and get a degree that can help him/her get a job that qualifies under H1b.
Our main goal to solve the retrogression problem.
Since you can study under H4 you cannot apply for F1 (My wife tried that already) :)

i got rfe for 140 asking for proof for ability to pay.one they have asked for is a tax return which i have got from the empliyer.the other is an audited financial statement for 2007..i understand that u need a cpa for it.anyone knows if just plain financial docs will do or do they have ot be audited.has anyone got it done?any idea about the costs?

What IV has done is commendable and unprecedented. I also think that most of us here do not know anything about the expenses incurred by IV team or money collected by IV team. It would be a good idea to be transparent in that aspect so that members can have a better understanding of the functioning of the organization and contribute appropriately. Just a suggestion; what do you guys think?
Definitely not a good idea to transperent for an org like IV. Dont forget that internet is open to any body in the whole wide world. Not fair to assume that only supports come here....people who oppose us come here to build strong cases against us and we dont want to fuel their efforts by opening things too much.
Have faith in IV, this is a 100% non-profit org, with no paid employees.

guys - i want to start a new forum on 401K ..
want to discuss what happens to people who have 401k contribution and want to go back to india
do we have to withdraw the 401K when we leave or can we withdraw it at a later date..
can some one start a new thread since i cannot figure out how.. thank you
401k is YOUR money (all that is vested). You can withdraw it whenever you want. Its not like SS benefits. Having said that, you dont have to withdraw it if you dont have the immediate need. Even if you go back, just let it be there, it will be kept invested, and will hopefully continue to grow.
And when you feel the need, just withdraw all/part of it. You will have to pay the taxes that were deferred, plus a penalty of 10%. But, with the company matching and the investment growth, in all probablity, even with the penalty+taxes, you will withdraw more than you have invested. So, dont worry about 401k.

IV now has clout which should be immediately used for a permanent fix. Two issues which might not require laws being passed can be implemented to ease the backlog situation that will be created.
1. Recapture lost Visa numbers- A just and reasonable demand that they cannot refuse.
2. Remove per country cap- It is stupid to look for diversity in a category based on intellect. The whole category is created for improving America's brain power so a country cap does not make sense.
Which is better to say" We want 10 people with OK intellect from 10 different countries of the world" or " We want 10 absolutely brilliant people-period"
If a country has more than 10,000 qualified people then approx. 10 of them will be super intelligent! This has to be true. In addition diversity adds to different ways of thinking and is the reason for soft quota for MBA admissions. Hence, diversity quota will be there. The only thing we could ask for to assign diversity score for each country. For example, India with 2000 languages is very diverse compared to other country say Iraq. Hence every country should be allocated quota based on their diversity score.

You didn't answer my question. Can you work for two companies processing your green card at the same time. I am working for employer A for 13 years and EB3 green card process pending for 8 years. Now while working for Company A, Can I start green card process through Company B(for part time work) and do porting to EB2? Please clarify. I am not intending to quit immediately after getting Green Card, I will work for 6 months after Green card for Company B(for part time)?
Is this legal to work full time for one company and part time for another company(I have EAD), both of them are processing green card at the same time? Is there a chance of getting RFE's OR Is there a chance of getting your original application getting rejected because of multiple employments and two green card process's at the same time.

Yes, AFAIK the FB spillover is added to the base quota and then divided between the ranks. At least I hope DoS and USCIS don't mess up with this calculation.
BTW: Where were you able to find this information?
its clearly written in Sep'2008 bulletin. However, seems like EB3-I wont' get any of it and all numbers will be given to EB2. we loose again.

eb3_nepa's request is valid in the context that spouse of an L1 can take up any Job.. & the spouse of the proposed 'Blue Card" can take up any job.. why not a H4?

On the other hand for those ones that say that we (H-4s) could apply for H-1B easily, it is not easy if you are not in IT. Some people said -although doesn't make much sense looking that L-1 and Blue card spouses would be able to work-, that if you do not want the H-4s to compete with average joes?, then an intermediate solution is to require a Bachellor degree minimum education requirement for getting the H-4s a H-4B (my new name for employment authorization), yes, dependend on the H-1B, if the H-1B is laid off the H-4 would still have the chance to apply for H-1B (without counting in the yearly quota) or leave the country after 6 months. Why should we get a F-1 visa?, most of us arrived highly educated.
