Is there a way to find out if one's FP has cleared or not? I guess infopass appt may be one way - just wondering if there was an easier way to know where one stands ...

Are u sure that we have to withdraw old EB3 case. My understanding is that u can file a fresh EB2 and use the old EB3 priority date.

My I-94 is expiring in a month. I have used Advance parole to enter US after a vacation about a year back. How do I renew my I-94 card? Does anybody know...
I had the same issue when I travelled last year. My lawyer said we do not have to renew since AOS pending essentially allows you to stay till adjudication of the case is complete. He did however ask me to renew the EAD and AP.
Just to clarify I have not used my EAD. Still on H1B.

You should be OK, I am aware of same situation and they accepted the refiling.
Mine was reject due to "missing or incorrect fee" refiled on Oct 12, waiting. Strange part is we dont have any evidence of the original check. That makes it complicated..
Thanks for your info..and I wish you good luck. By any chance are you aware whether i need to send new fees or old fees? As a precaution I am going to sending the diff amount in a separate check.

I think it might be CT issue. There is an ongoing immigration fraud investigation against state employees so now they are over doing enforcement.
I had problem when I wanted to register my Car in New Jersey. I had moved to New Jersey from MA, so I had MA license at that time and was staying temorarily at my cousin's place. When I went to one DMV they told me that you need to have NJ driver's license to register my car. I told them the situation and that I was going to get NJ license once I get my place, but they just didn't register my car. I went twice at that place and got same answer.
Then I went to different DMV and the guy understood my situation and gave me a temporary NJ driver license number (NOT driver license) and registered my car. TOld me to give this number when I come to get NJ license and everything worked fine.
Its just some poeple don't want to know about some this or just want to create problems.

I am even willing to pay $10K per family member to get a GC. Only condition is that they should process it in the same way as other Premium processing. It should not take years in Name check or any other processing after paying this kind of money.
Australia has similar plan for parent Visa. Any Permanent Resident can pay Approx 20K Aus$ and get a permanent Resident Visa for parents.

I had gone to India via Munich in Dec 2006 with H1-B extension approved (VISA on passport had expired) without a Transit VISA and had no problems. Hope this helps!

No. You will need new visa stamp.
I was told if you have valid stamping you do not need get new stamping even if you changed the employer. All you need is to give the new approval notice at the POE.

Even though receipts are generated based on received date, I assume they will process by priority date , if not what is use of priority date after filing I-485?
Gurus, any body know how USCIS will process 485 applications?
If the dates are current, then from what I have heard is USCIS will process the 485 applications based on the RD, if the dates are not current then it is based on PD.

My company informed me today that, when spouse is added to the insurence, the insurence will start from day 1 of next month. My wife will be comming in the middle of month. How to cover this gap with insurence...?? Any suggestions...????

I was checking vfs-usa.co.in website and in "Immigrant Visas for East & West " section, its written
An immigrant visa allows the person receiving it to live and work indefinitely in the United States. Immigrant visas are issued based on approved I-129F, I-130, I-140, I-360, or I-600 petitions that establish a family- or employment-based relationship between the petitioner and the beneficiary.
I have my I140 approved through a american company and my h1b is getting expired in june 09.
According to above wordings, I can get a visa to live and work indefinitely,based on my approved I140. I have never heard about it.
Might be some one can explain what is exactly means.
