    Hello Friends,

    I have not received my 485 and 140 , filing receipts . The documenst were mailed on 30 july to Texas Center. Anyone have any idea which the best way to get information on waiting time.

    Back in 2007, we did a lot of PR work, we pleaded, begged, motivated, requested ... we kept on doing it consistently.

    There is a lot of work that needs to be done. The active folks must motivate the passive folks.

    So, LAZYCIS, while you delayed to renew the EAD... you possibly were in US working on H1B. My situation is a little different, I am planning to leave the country for a year... so
    1) Wanted to check if I can stay out of US for that long while AoS in pending...is there any such restriction that you can be away for only 2 months.

    2) That potentially means I won't be getting paid in US... so no payroll for that much time, Is there any restriction on how many payslips I can miss.

    Any help in this regard....

    Hey, with ALL EB numbers gone till October, what else USCIS employees are suppose to do? Poop, Pee and approve I-140! This way, make this freaking GC line even longer. When PERM came in the picture...everyone was so exited.... Fact of the matter is it does not matter if you get labor certification in 2 days and I-140 in 3 days. There are only 140,000 EB visas available. All we are doing here is making the line longer. One thing that has changed is.. every Tom Dick and Harry has an approved labor through PERM so they can extend their H1-B for ever technically. Earlier, when getting a lobor certification was time consuming, getting H1-B extended beyond 6 years are a real pain@neck. my 2 cents....

    What does your online status say? Mine changed today and says the following:

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

    On October 3, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT.

    No idea what it means though. If you are a July 2nd filer, the above surely should not mean I am about to receive mine anytime now...Confused:confused:

    Absolutely right, how otherwise do you explain that they issued card production for people with PD's in 2004, (Dates not current in June) on July 2nd and in an hour and then said the visas are unavailable.


    NO FIFO whatsoever.

    They just saved themselves by retracting the VB of JULY, or else they would have faced lawsuits, and investigation which would have shown all irregularities and fraud.


    If they can't follow FIFO in issuing receipt notices, which is the first and most basic step, then we should not expect them to follow FIFO for the rest of the steps.

    your description is pretty vague. please provide more details of the precise job description in the labor petition, and the occupational classification code in the application.

    Hello GCGreen,

    My labor mentions System Analyst (Oracle EBS). And I am looking for a job with similar title, but with different skills (Java/J2EE). I can have the same occupational classification code not a problem about that.

    Hope this information is ample for you to give me some advice.

    I don�t know about the port of entry, but for EAD and AP they might insist. You must have read my earlier post. In my case they had enough evidence to verify that I had a 485 application pending, but they still chose to send it back. I guess it also depends on the knowledge of the person handling your case. The only way to find out for sure is to apply and see if they send it back. Are you the primary applicant in your case or is it your husband? My lawyer said they did not get the 485 notice for 1 year now, but I know for sure that he has it.

    I went for my driver's license in CT and they asked for an I-485 receipt notice when I showed my EAD as my status. They too sent me back saying they cannot give me a license without the I-485 receipt. You never know where they ask for that.


    I would like to know if we can travel on AP without a I485 notice, do they ask for it at POE??

    Our attorney never told us that he did not receive my I485 notice till date!! we filed in July and he received one of the notice in Oct 2007. He is telling me now when I about to fly in a months time. He has also asked me apply for the renewal of AP & EAD, he has asked me attach the biometric notice instead of I485 notice and my husbands I485 notice.

    Can anyone who has traveled on AP without a I485 notice share their experience. Any suggestions are welcome...
