What is blank screen mode? I don't run mine in screensaver mode, I turn it on and set my computer to stay on and just shut off my monitor.
**edit**
And I'm pretty sure that seti units are always the same size, its folding ones that aren't.
Yes, they are all the same size but the amount of processing required to complete the task differs from unit to unit.
My G5 did a work unit in 45 mins one time. On average it takes less than 2 hours / unit :D. The command line app would be even faster.
I don't run it any more as it apparently rips hard drives and I couldn't be bothered setting up the RAM disk method. It also turns my G5 into a bit of a wind tunnel some times.

Once was fine...but twice?
Um, no, I don't want to work with a pedantic fool like you every day, thanks.
I should mail him back and remind him to tuck his period inside the parentheses.
Not to be pedantic, just ignorant:
I understand that the punctuation marks go inside the quotes (um, not parentheses... maybe you do need him ;)) when part of a quotational reply. However, when used to mark a single word or phrase, it seems as though contemporary "correct" usage allows for the quoted word/phrase to be used as an indivisible object, meaning punctuation would go outside.
But, hey, I'm a programmer geek. I'm happy just to be able to communicate at all.

Besides Ebay? I'm not lookin for much, I just want to get rid of them. Any suggestions?
Rip them, then sell them at a new and used CD store.
In the Bay Area, try Rasputan.

So, I guess Windows needs to update their XP background then, huh?
LOL, yeah. Doubt they'd do that though.

So that's why you started the "G6" thread and have posted the same gripe about "what the hell is Motorola doing" in several threads?

When traveling to Europe, don't only go to the "tourist" areas, take the time to walk or explore around the cities outside the tourist zones.
When I was in Prague, I found a really cool air history museum (with lots of Russian jets and MIGs which would be harder to find in the USA) but it was way outside the tourist zone and I think it was good to get a feel for how the city really was.

If you aren't buying it now, then your only option is to wait. When you have the money, then take a new look at the buyer's guide to see if there are any new news about the ACD.

It would be legit with thunderbolt! (even more legit, I mean!)

BART is great! yes, strange/bizarre/disgusting things can happen, as discussed in the thread tech4all referred to, but i've found it to be reliable and safe (as long as you use common sense, as already pointed out). i used to use BART to commute every day to and from work, but my current job is not anywhere near a BART line so i really only use BART nowadays when i'm going into the city.
so, yes, don't bother renting a car and just use BART. enjoy your trip to the bay area! are you going to try to make it to the apple headquarters in cupertino? BART doesn't go that far south, so you'll need to find some connecting public transportation systems to get there...

Yes I plan/hope to go to Apple HQ. I plan to get a car for part of the trip but I can either go back to the airport or pick one up at the hotel. I travel to the bay area frequently for work. This is our second vacation to the area. We are mainly going to to San Fran to go to Chinatown and the Japanese Gardens. Then we are going down Pacific Coast Highway to Monterey. The wife is in a photography class so she hopes to get some nice pictures.
Thanks

Wondering how these compare to the SGP iPod Touch 4th Gen screen films...
I have SGP films for my iPhone 4 and love them so I'd assume these would be great too.

Would you rather post on a site that uses vBulletin or phpbb. I know I would prefer vBulletin but would the average user know a difference?
Depends on your definition of average user. I consider myself an "average user" as I post on several different forums and have for years. That gives me a good feel for what I like and what I don't care for. Across the board I prefer vB to phpbb. Strictly as an end user who is pretty well aquatinted with the external workings of a forum (do not apply any of this to it as supporting one or the other).
Your first timers and newbie forum users probably wouldn't really notice the difference.

Look, Apple is focused on having an Alti-Vec processor, everything has been written for that, now people say the new IBM Power PC based on Power4 might not be Alti-Vec so therefore Apple will not use them. If Apple is so worried about having Alti-Vec, then why in the hell would they be now going to an x86 from AMD. If Apple goes AMD or Intel it would have to be an x86 processor. That is what they build and they are not going to build a small number of some special high tech processor just for Apple, sorry IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
Okay lets say you guys are right and Apple says...yep an AMD Athlon for our PowerMacs in Jan...then what do you do with the "i" and "e" series. Do you continue on with them as a PPC with Alti-Vec and make the PowerMacs with an x86 AMD? HOLY MOLY what a confusing thing. We then have Macs that are not even compatible with each other, you then have to make different software for different computers. What about all the PPC Macs that are out there right now. How long do companies have to make different software for all different types of machines? If Apple goes to AMD it would not be a PowerPC, and for now changing chip arc. would make for lots of confusion.
There is still something called AIM and PowerPC and this is where the future Apple processors will come from. Intel and AMD are not going to plug huge amounts of money into designing an all new chip that is completely compatible with PPC considering Apples market share. If Apple goes x86 then they might as well stick Windows XP on their machines and go head to head with the rest of the PC mess.

It'll hopefully be announced before/during PMA (now Cliq) in the fall. Of course, they could announce D400/D4 instead. The D5100 is set to be the next camera announcement, though, so I wouldn't expect anything besides that (and maybe their mirrorless solution) before summer.

Doubt it. Maybe Apple will have a bigger stock?

I'm so surprised that no one is claiming that the white iPhone will be the next model released. Lots of rumors out there that the next version of the iPhone will not be a major release, but simply a specs upgrade. That seems to me the perfect time to "launch" the white iPhone.
I honestly don't see the big deal behind this. I prefer the black model anyways.

The beauty of painting the iBook, in my opinion, though, is that since you can take off the shell and make it clear, you can paint the inside of it, therefore making it impossible to scratch off or damage any painting you do. I mean, the Vaio looks awesome and all, but you'd have to be darn careful with it. The down side is that you have to paint it like a mirror image, though, and you also have to paint the picture with the top layers first, which makes it kind of complicated.
But I mean, an iBook is an iBook... a Vaio... well, that's just a PC. :pActually, unlike the iBook, the VAIO's shell is not clear... this painting is on the OUTSIDE of the notebook. No mirror skills required, but it does mean that the painting is exposed to the elements.
Like I said, it's just a similar project... it would be nice to see more notebooks designed to be user-customizable WRT making artistic cases.

Where are you experiencing this problem? And what version of OS X are you running? I have 10.2.6 and tried this at the login screen and could only get in by typing my proper password.

I think you should as iSimx said, consider adjustments to boost the colours - this can be done in iPhoto and Preview.
Also consider straightening pictures (can be done in iPhoto easily) - several of your shots suffer from this problem.
If you don't like changes made you can always revert to the original as iPhoto keeps a copy.

TouchDown, do those utilities such as Data Rescue 3 and Disk Warrior actually work? thanks for the help :)
Data Rescue worked for me several times, it even took one week to scan an HDD and I could recover most of it.
