I can't remember how many pics it will hold but it's in the 1200 range. I just don't like being on vacation and needing to backup...or atleast as often. And I want to point out the fact that cr2sh said this thing is SMALL. You can easily fit it into a pack of cigarettes or roughly compare it to an ipod(little thicker). This camera definitly fits into the highly portable category.

Just called the Emeryville Apple store, and asked them if I could camp out there. They said they don't care but that I should check with Bay Street security. They gave me the number. The lady I talked to said that no camping is allowed on the sidewalk or street and police will be out that night. The time people can start lining up is at 7am. I called the Apple store on Powell in San Francisco and they said it no problem, no one ever gets bothered. Guess thats where I will be!

The larger one was my original vision. It didn't look so great @ 75x75px so I just put 10^7 instead.

Yes it makes SOME games look better. Road Rash 64 and Vigilante 8 had an option for a higher resolution when the expansion pack was detected. It took out some of the jagginess (whatever the word is for that), but the detail was the same and it cut a noticeable amount of FPS.

I'm imagining a scenario like this and wonder if it's technically doable and if it's a reasonable approach. Note that I'm a web programmer but not an iOS programmer.
A 12-person team is out in the woods on a scientific scavenger hunt for bugs. They stay in wifi range of a Mac that's running a web server with a web app I'll write. Each person has an iPad or iPhone running mobile Safari.
When one scavenger spots a gromphadorhina portentosa, he/she types its name in a web form and submits it. (Maybe we'll use abbreviations for the names!) The web app checks if a gromphadorhina portentosa has already been spotted and recorded, letting that person know. If it hasn't been spotted before, the scavenger takes a photo and collects other scientific information about the bug, which can stay on the local device until later. The purpose of the central web server is to prevent two scavengers from taking the time to record details about the same bug.
Optimizations could include using AJAX to check for matches as the user types.
Is this a practical way to do approach this problem? Are there smarter approaches I should also consider?

A 5870 is (on paper) twice as fast as one 5770. Two 5770s would be even in theory, but crossfire mode always has a speed hit, so the 5870 would beat two 5770s in crossfire.
Plus you have to deal with a more "exotic" configuration with crossfire.

I don't really understand the co-location services though... I have a hard time seeing why anyone would want to do that, vs. buying real server services...also it's sort of like a kennel for Mac Minis...*sob* I think I would miss my lil' guy something fierce! :(

Nope. A pillow (by definition I believe) is a cushion, which a MBP is not. I guess you can say it qualified as a support.
Nothings stopping you from putting your head on it. I'm sure it could take the load, but i would recommend just getting one of those heat pads.

I don't know, I just hope we don't get any bad ones where I am for the next three years or so. Give me time to finish my Master's degree, sell my condo and get the ******* out of here (as is my plan).
